Modern automation system “smart home” helps not only to control home appliances, but also takes care of your health. It makes our life much more comfortable and safe.

Climate control system allows you to create a favorable climate for health. It allows you to maintain a comfortable temperature and humidity level in the room. For example, for a child with a cold, you can easily make the air more humid and warm.

“Smart home” becomes a helper for sick homeowners when they are alone at home. The system will allow him to control household appliances without getting out of bed, as well as give the opportunity to call an ambulance or notify relatives in case of deteriorating health. You will also be able to set reminders to take medications.

Smart Home and Healthy Sleep

On 02/01/2021 by 4v1vFLoPE5

A new smart device developed by Samsung engineers helps monitor sleep parameters. Interacting with other elements of the smart home, the device provides the user with comfort and contributes to improved well-being, which directly depends on a proper night’s rest.

Smart technologies will help to get enough sleep in conditions of time deficit

Several surveys conducted by different institutions show a similar result: only two percent of people claim they always get enough sleep. The problem is not just stress and lack of time for rest. Many of us cannot dramatically change our lifestyles and allocate extra hours for recuperation. But, besides time, there are other factors that affect the quality of sleep. Among them:

  • The temperature in the bedroom;
  • the humidity in the air;
  • the intensity of breathing;
  • the position of the body during sleep.

These factors can be measured and controlled. Smart technologies allow automatic control without additional time and effort. Sometimes by eliminating non-obvious problems that interfere with a comfortable sleep, a person begins to feel more rested without increasing the time for a night’s rest.

The secret of a healthy sleep is under the pillow

One of the devices designed to improve sleep quality is SlEEPsense. The gadget is placed under your pillow at night. The device is based on a small, flat sensor about 1 cm thick. The sensor monitors the following parameters of the sleeper:

  • heart rate;
  • breathing rate; how often the posture changes during sleep.

External conditions are also monitored. The device detects the temperature and air quality in the bedroom. The accuracy of the sensor is about 97 percent.

Information – the first step to proper sleep

All measurements are recorded in a smartphone app. In the morning the user can easily define what prevented him from getting a good night’s sleep and get recommendations on how to make his rest more productive.

The developers of the sensor have provided a possibility to integrate it into the unified smart-home network in order to adjust external factors to the user in real time. It became hot? The air conditioner will automatically cool the room. Too stuffy? Ventilation is activated. No more having to wake up in the middle of the night from a feeling of discomfort.

In addition to the sleep sensor, now there are many other technical means for comfortable rest: from “smart” blanket with heating to “anti-snoring” device. These and other devices help to use the time allocated for sleep with the greatest efficiency.

Sophisticated, intelligent technology makes our lives not only easier, but also more individual. Intelligent processes relieve stress, replenish vitality, and free up time to spend with loved ones or to devote to your favorite activity. We tell you how smart home technology is evolving towards the concept of wellness, and the individual with his or her personal desire for wellness is at the center of this process.

smart home can protect

In the living room, we gather as a family and enjoy spending time alone with our favorite TV series – it is the place of the best hours after a busy day at work, so everything here should be subject to the idea of comfort. We should start with the basics. First, the air. To make it clean and fragrant, Polish designer Jan Ankerstein developed the concept of hovering glowing balls, which, flying around the room, purify the air. The object was named Aeroball. The shell of the sphere absorbs light during the day and begins to glow with a soft glow as darkness falls. “Fireflies” are filled with helium – that is what allows them to “stay afloat” – and not only filter the air, but also fragrance it: the user can choose whether the room will smell of pine or eucalyptus. The concept won first prize in the Design Lab competition, and we look forward to seeing the flying air purifiers on sale.
