Professionals Can Avoid Penalties By Certifying Before End of 2015, Reminds ACMSS

Anaheim, CA, December 17, 2015 — The American College of Medical Scribe Specialists (ACMSS) advise that in order to avoid penalties, Eligible Professionals (EP) need to get their certifications before the end of 2015. The attestation application eligibility period is quickly ending.
Those who don’t use the program will continue to face penalties in 2016. The payment reduction started at 1% in 2015. It is pivotal our country work to onboard electronic records for the wellness and efficacy of our nation and people.
Eligible Professionals include: Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy, Doctor of Oral Surgery, Doctor of Podiatric Medicine, Doctor of Optometry, and Chiropractors.
Any staff members who will be entering electronic Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) information for Medication, Laboratory and Radiology Orders attesting for meaningful use must be certified and credentialed. Certified Medical Scribe Specialists (CMSS) qualify towards meeting the CPOE measure for EHR adoption with CMS.
