Kristin Hagen is uniquely qualified as a specialist in clinical informatics, and health and wellness, and has been involved in both regional and national efforts as a technical expert to define, develop, and advocate for electronic health record specifications. As executive director of ACMSS, she is committed to helping create a patient-safe, patient-centric healthcare system nationwide. Throughout her career she has been an advocate, and innovator, for transforming our nation’s healthcare system from one that is volume-based and focused on disease to a value-based system that focuses on prevention, wellness, and precision medicine.Kristin provides a wide range of perspectives on health information technology, including those of a national healthcare advocate, a hands-on care provider, and clinical informatics professional. She has gained deep knowledge of evolving patient/client models of the U.S. healthcare system. Her work with ACMSS includes improving curricula, and credentialing and certification standards, enabling CMS Compliant Physician/Certified Medical Scribe Specialists (CMSS) Teams.
At ACMSS Kristin oversees meaningful use of health information technology throughout the healthcare system. She also advocates nationally for a smooth transition to the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) and its Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and Alternative Payment Methods (APMs) for eligible clinicians, enabling deep innovation and transformative preventive care for all.
Kristin has volunteered her time and expertise with Washington-Idaho’s Regional Extension Center (WIREC/Qualis Health), Idaho Health Data Exchange (IHDE), the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI), and the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT), and advocacy and innovation utilization through CMS.
Kristin’s clinical and informatics background started with her certification as an Emergency Medical Technician in 1994. She has served in a wide range of health information technology leadership positions, including serving as CEO of a high-technology clinical documentation service company and developing health information technology curricula and standards. In 2005, Kristin founded A Line Above, LLC, an industry-oriented technology company focused on streamlining health information processes through customized workflow solutions. In 2010, Kristin sold the company to American Healthcare Documentation Professionals Group and became AHDPG’s Director of Curriculum Development, in which she led and built the nation’s first online medical scribe training program through medical scribe academia with Rochester General in New York.
Kristin is a member of the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP/MSSRB.org) Medical Scribe Specialist Education Review Board. She has been active in curriculum development for medical scribe specialists and in expanding the scope of their credential to improve the value of Certified Medical Scribe Specialists across healthcare physician organizations.
Her patient perspective with our former and evolving healthcare systems comes from suffering debilitating injuries at age 19 and enduring multiple surgeries as a result of an “original” high-powered first-generation airbag accident (1994), and then again a few years later from an accident involving a redesigned second-generation airbag. She lived with the immediate effects of significant injury for nearly two decades before proposed changes to our healthcare system, and her own efforts, opened and paved the way for her to get well. It took more than 19 years of her own research and then several years of ongoing work with her healthcare physician to create a wellness plan to bring her back to full recovery using Integrative Medicine/Preventive Medicine as a client of the healthcare system (2014-2016). As in systems design, her entire frame had to be rebuilt utilizing precision medicine. She is currently writing a book based on her experiences to help others work with their physicians to develop customized and individualized wellness plans, working across healthcare to improve care for all – wellness, disease reversal, and preventive integrative medicine.
Kristin is an original artist and brings high caliber, high-quality systems design around challenging and complex US Healthcare needs, enabling innovative, flexible problem-resolution approaches in all she does. In 2008, Kristin earned her Certified Professional credentials in Electronic Health Records (CPEHR), Health Information Technology (CPHIT), and Health Information Exchange (CPHIE). She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Kaplan University in Health Information Technology (2011) and is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society. Kristin is a Graduate Practical Nurse (Carrington College, 2012), and served as the Nightingale pinning ceremonial speaker. Today, Kristin is credentialed as a Certified Medical Scribe Specialist (CMSS), and Certified Professional of Health Information Management Systems (CPHIMS), assisting our nation’s physicians in meeting their goals, building a patient-centric healthcare system together.

Jessica Rye, MHA

Jessica Rye is the Vice President of Operations for ProScribe, LLC. She joined the ProScribe team over two years ago as the Director of Account Management. Prior to joining ProScribe, Jessica worked in hospital administration focusing on operational enhancement, project management, quality improvement and service excellence.Jessica holds a Master of Science in Health Care Administration from Trinity University and a Bachelor of Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi.
Jessica has been a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) since 2008. She has served in previous leadership positions for the ACHE South Texas Chapter Board of Directors, and is currently in her second term as the Director of Communications and committee chair.
Tushar Kapoor, MD, FACEP, FAAEM
MACRA: CMS Preventive Medicine: Urgent Care
Dr. Kapoor of Long Island, NY is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician. He is one of the founders of CityMD and currently Executive Vice President for Medical Staff Development. Prior to starting CityMD, he was the Associate Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Nassau University Medical Center in Long Island, NY.Dr. Kapoor completed his residency in Emergency Medicine from Long Island Jewish Medical Center, NY with distinctions of Chief Resident, and awards in research and teaching and obtained his medical degree from Downstate Medical School, NY receiving commendation in research. Dr. Kapoor completed his undergraduate degree from an accelerated medical program in NYC at Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education.
As EVP of medical staff development at CityMD, Dr. Kapoor enjoys seeing patients, and has helped develop the training and quality assurance/improvement projects for company medical scribes, medical assistants and X-ray techs. He continues working on key projects involving the growth and development of scribes in his company.
